NeuroVision™'s innovative technology is the result of 20 years of intensive scientific and clinical research in understanding how the brain processes visual information, how neural activity is related to visual perception and how visual processing interacts with other neural systems. NeuroVision™ technology is a non-invasive, patient-specific vision perceptual learning program based on visual stimulation and facilitation of neural connection responsible for vision. It facilitates neural connections at the cortical level through a computerized visual training regimen using Gabor Patches to improve contrast sensitivity and visual acuity by reducing the noise-to signal ratio of neural activity in the primary visual cortex.
It is implemented as an interactive computerized training regimen using various parameters of the visual stimulus (Gabor Patches) delivered to customers in the comfort of their homes or at clinics, using a standard PC connected to the Internet.
The technology has been clinically proven in the treatment of adult amblyopia ("lazy eye"), which until now has been considered untreatable and has received FDA 510(k) marketing clearance indicating NVC for the treatment of adult amblyopia in patients 9 years or older. It also received Medical CE-Mark to market its products in the EU.
